Dana White Announces Georges St-Pierre vs. Michael Bisping

Dana White Announces Georges St-Pierre vs. Michael Bisping

This of course, sent the fight community into whirlwind as they salivated at the possibility of St-Pierre matching up against Conor McGregor, the reigning 155-pound champion.

UFC confirmed Wednesday that St-Pierre's return to the octagon after almost four years will come in a title bout versus reigning middleweight champion Michael Bisping "in the second half of 2017" at a venue yet-to-be determined. If GSP does win, will he vacate the title and leave us in some sort of tournament situation?

Awaiting the Canadian will be the current middleweight champion, Michael Bisping in what is set to be one of the most highly anticipated fights of the year.

St-Pierre stepped away from the sport in November of 2013 after making the ninth consecutive defense of his UFC welterweight championship.

He had been in the thick of negotiations with former owner Lorenzo Fertitta in 2016, targeting a return opposite Bisping.

Feud season two to focus on Prince Charles and Princess Diana

After weeks of speculation about who Georges St. Pierre would fight upon his return, we finally have our answer: Michael Bisping.

Bisping is now recovering from a knee injury, expecting to be ready to fight by early summer. He has long said, however, that he would not pass on the option to fight St-Pierre if it were offered.

I can honestly say I didn't see this coming. "I hope they do". In addition, the tandem of heralded fighters will now take part in a Friday press conference to make the aforementioned news official. Now he's set to once again take on an MMA legend, one he's specifically called out repeatedly, in what will surely represent the big money fight he's long desired. "He has to go through USADA".

GSP will have to undergo a four month enrollment with USADA so the fight will probably go down in the later part of this year. So in a ideal world, I fight Georges St-Pierre, I will beat Georges St-Pierre, I will not be injured in that fight Georges because Georges never injures anybody in a fight, and then I will do a quick turnaround, within six weeks I will fight Yoel Romero.
