More charges for Abington man accused of secretly videotaping nude patients

Lower Makefield detectives obtained a search warrant and found 18 videos of women nude or partially nude while receiving light treatment at the facility, according to court records.

James Close, 45, of Roslyn, was working as a nurse at Penn Medicine Dermatology in Lower Makefield Township when he allegedly photographed and/or videotaped a 17-year-old girl while she was undressed, according to Bucks County prosecutors.

At last report, Close was lodged in Bucks County prison. She could see her nude reflection on the phone, which had been recording for 25 seconds.

A nurse with voyeuristic tendencies is coming up against criminal charges after he had secretly recorded female patients, around eight of them, in a Philadelphia dermatology center, say authorities. The girl turned the phone over to staff at the facility and police were contacted.

On Monday, he was charged with over 40 criminal counts accusing him of recording seven more patients, all adult women. Close, employed as a licensed practical nurse, was the technician assigned for her treatments.

According to the date stamps, Close made the videos between January 18 and February 13.

Numerous videos depict victims' private parts and/or bare breasts as they underwent the treatment either nude or in various stages of undress, the affidavit indicates.

"We are appalled at the actions of this former employee and are cooperating fully with the police as they investigate this very disturbing matter", spokeswoman Susan Phillips wrote The Post in an email.

Close, who was being held at the Bucks County Correctional Facility in lieu of $100,000 bails, is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday morning for a preliminary arraignment.
