Negotiations on-going with North Korea to release Malaysians - AG

Deputy Health Minister Dr Hilmi Yahaya said although there was no decision on the matter yet, there was no time limit on how long a body can be stored at the hospital morgue. He said that it could be buried in Malaysia if no next-of-kin came to claim it.

Inspector-General of Police Khalid Abu Bakar said that they have fulfilled all the requirements in identifying the body as Kim Jong-nam's.

"As long as the USA and its followers persist with their nuclear threat and blackmails against the DPRK, and as long as they do not give up the war exercise they stage under the cloak of annual drills right in front of the DPRK, the DPRK will continue to bolster the self-reliance defense capability and capability for the pre-emptive strike with nuclear force", Kim In Ryong said.

"We are not in a hurry to do so".

"We should not have "denial syndrome", instead, we improve on our weaknesses", he said.

Dr Subramaniam said the federal government will only decide on the next step if none of the family members turn up to collect the body of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un's older half-brother, who has been kept in the Hospital Kuala Lumpur mortuary for almost a month.

Two women - one Vietnamese and one Indonesian - have been arrested and charged with the murder. He was dead within 20 minutes, authorities say.

Runaway bus 'kills 34' in Haitian city of Gonaives
The horrific accident sparked a huge rescue operation attended by firefighters and ambulance crews. The incident occurred during a parade near the town of Gonaives, in northern Haiti.

The North Korean embassy in Kuala Lumpur has refused to cooperate with Malaysian police investigating Jong-Nam's death, while Pyongyang has rejected allegations that it had a hand in the attack at klia2 on Feb 13.

Apandi said the government fears that if too many people are talking (about the conflict), it will jeopardise the negotiations.

The whereabouts of Kim Han Sol and other family members remain unknown, but a video emerged online Wednesday of a man claiming to be Kim Han Sol and saying his father was "killed".

Malaysian authorities have asked for Kim's immediate family to provide DNA samples to identify the body, but nobody has come forward.

The identity of the deceased has been among the contentious issues between Malaysia and North Korea, whose once-cozy ties have sharply deteriorated in the wake of the incident.

Malaysia and North Korea both sit in group B of the final stage of qualifiers ahead of the 2019 AFC Asian Cup tournament in the United Arab Emirates, with the postponed fixture set to be the first in a tough group that also includes Hong Kong and Lebanon.
