Injury rules Boult out of second Test

Henry Nicholls of the Black Caps drives the ball during New Zealand V Bangladesh Test. A twin-spin attack would appear unlikely - the last time New Zealand did that at the Basin Reserve was in 2000 - which leaves Mitchell Santner vulnerable to either Colin de Grandhomnme, who would be a straight swap at No. 8, or Matt Henry who lengthen the tail.

It will be Broom's Test debut but he has played 30 one-day internationals including three in the recent series against South Africa where he had scores of two, two and a duck.

Fellow seamer Tim Southee, dropped for the rain-affected first Test which ended in a draw in Dunedin on Sunday, is expected to be called in as Boult's replacement.

Taylor's replacement, Neil Broom, is to make his test debut at the age of 33, while number five Henry Nicholls is still trying to cement his place in global cricket.

Du Plessis admitted the squeeze will be on Broom, a veteran batsman but one feeling his way into test cricket.

Patriots sign Rex Burkhead
The Patriots signed Hogan thinking he could compete for a receiving role while knowing he could contribute on special teams. And who knows if they are done adding to their backfield, with last year's starter, LeGarrette Blount, now a free agent.

Former Vikings KR Patterson signs with Raiders
Patterson showed off against the Raiders in a November 15, 2015 game at Oakland, returning a kickoff 93 yards for a touchdown. All of those division games are going to be tough, tight games with a lot of elite pass rushers coming off of the edge.

"We've been surprised. New Zealand conditions have changed since we were last here", he said, with South Africa confirming they were bringing in an extra spinner - Dane Piedt -for the third Test in Hamilton next week.

Tim Southee makes his return, with Trent Boult having been ruled out with injury.

"I'll come in for Boulty, a straight swap for Trent who will unfortunately miss this one", Southee said, adding the balance of the side was still being debated despite the green wicket.

Du Plessis said: "He's a fantastic bowler and a huge loss for them".

"If you lose two key players like that, you definitely feel you're a bit light and you need everyone to put in really good performances for the team to do well".
