Amarinder Singh to take oath as Punjab CM tomorrow

The oath of office will be administered by Punjab governor VP Singh Badnore at Raj Bhawan in Chandigarh. Third on the list of nine ministers who was sworn in was Navjot Singh Sidhu, the cricketer-turned-politician who quit the BJP a year ago.

Navjot Singh Sidhu was also sworn-in as a cabinet minister of Punjab. However, there has been no confirmation about the same yet.

Four-time lawmaker Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa, Four-time lawmaker and Rana Gurjit Singh, the state's richest legislator will also be ministers.

The Congress notched 77 of the 117 seats, up from 46 in the 2012 assembly elections.

Two female MLAs - Dinanagar MLA Aruna Choudhary and Malerkotla MLA Razia Sultana - inducted in the Cabinet, were given the Independent charge of Minister of State. The state can have a maximum of 18 ministers, including the Chief Minister.
