IAG brands new long-haul A330 budget carrier 'Level'

IAG brands new long-haul A330 budget carrier 'Level'

International Consolidated Airlines Group, BA's parent company, said Friday (March 17) that it's launching a low-priced carrier called Level that will offer no-frills service from Spain to two airports in California and two in Latin America, beginning in June.

Last month, for instance, Norwegian Air launched promotional transatlantic flights between Europe and the United States for as little as US$65 one-way.

To start, the carrier will fly travellers aboard two Airbus A330 aircraft that can accommodate 293 economy and 21 premium economy seats.

International Airlines Group (IAG) - the parent of British Airways, Iberia, Vueling and Aer Lingus - will launch a low-priced transatlantic airline in June called Level.

British Airways and Iberia parent International Consolidated Airlines Group (LON:IAG) is launching a new long-haul budget airline based in Barcelona, the company has said.

Barcelona is also home to IAG's low-priced Vueling airline, which will serve to connect passengers arriving from Level flights with Vueling's network of European destinations. The first flight will take off on June 1.

Vikings Rule Out Re-Signing Adrian Peterson
Though not a literal trade, Peterson in Oakland and Latavius Murray in Minnesota would in effect be exactly that. Peterson's time with the Vikings was also not without controversy.

IAG's new airline will be initially staffed by Iberia's cabin crew, and plan to create up to 250 jobs in Barcelona, where the brand will launch later this year.

The low-priced airline is an effort by IAG to muscle in on a market now dominated by their rivals Norwegian Air and WestJet.

Passengers in the premium economy section will enjoy free luggage, entertainment and meals, while the rest of the passengers will have to pay for everything - including seat selection.

It had previously identified Santiago, Havana and Tokyo as potential routes for the new long-haul division. It will complement our existing airline portfolio and further diversify our current customer base. High-speed Wi-Fi will be offered for prices starting at $9.65.

"Barcelona is Vueling's home base and this will allow customers to connect from Vueling's extensive European network onto LEVEL's long haul flights", Walsh continued.

"This is just the start", said Walsh. Spirit Airlines also added seven new routes in February, and Frontier Airlines plans to expand to 12 new markets in the spring and summer.
