Netflix Introduces a New 'Skip Intro' Button

The feature is now only available on the Netflix web platform, but it's appearance could mean Netflix if planning to bring it to their apps down the line.

Apart from the Skip Intro button, the streaming platform also announced that it will be replacing its old five-star rating system with a new thumbs up or down feature.

The Skip Intro feature also works for other programs outside of the Netflix Original label, such as The Walking Dead, Mad Men, Parks and Recreation, and The Office.

The feature is not available as of yet on the Netflix app, but users online can click the button at the top of any Netflix show and immediately skip to the first scene.

After the longstanding request of many Netflix users, the option to skip intros has been added. The popular streaming site has introduced a "Skip Intro" button on their site. Moreover, in case you have opted for the auto-play mode for a specific series, the opening credits will be skipped automatically.

You know how when you're five seasons deep into a Gilmore Girls Netflix marathon and you've heard the theme song so many times that it's gone from cute to seriously annoying? Given that opening credits are normally the same length for every episode of a TV show, it's not exactly hard to implement from a technological level.

No more having to watch the same minute long title sequence over and over before watching an episode of say House of Cards or Stranger Things.

It's a binge-watchers dream - an effortless way to skip a show's opening credits.
