OnePlus 5 to feature 8GB RAM, Snapdragon 835 processor

OnePlus 5 to feature 8GB RAM, Snapdragon 835 processor

The OnePlus 5 sporting two rear camera structure is a thread among the majority of Chinese smartphone creators.

Though a Snapdragon 835 will help the device gain a higher battery life as opposed to the Snapdragon 820-running OnePlus 3, think of how it will drastically change the landscape of smartphone usage if the battery capacity is bumped up a little higher. Well, here is a small highlight of this scenario. OnePlus is a Chinese smartphone manufacturer, and rumors claim that the number 4 is bad luck in China. Plus, OnePlus 5 will be powered by Qualcomm's latest flagship processor - the octa-core Snapdragon 835 along with the Adreno 540 GPU.

OnePlus is relied upon to bounce from the OnePlus 3T name to OnePlus 5 for the 2017 flagship. The OnePlus 3T comes with a huge 3400mAh battery pack.

The OnePlus 5 is also expected to have no physical Home button just like the Samsung Galaxy S8. However, reports suggest that 8GB remains an incredible figure for a smartphone, given that it is unusual for a phone to require an 8GB unless OnePlus is planning into something powerful like an advanced virtual reality platform, NDTV reported. Furthermore, the camera will support features like optical image stabilisation, zoom, and fast flash.

Earlier this year, a report from PhoneRadar pointed out that some rumors have indicated that the cameras of this phone could turn out to be very special, with the one at the back offering 23 megapixels and the secondary camera up front providing 16 megapixels.

The publication further said the flagship could come with 8GB of RAM - 2GB more than the 3T's 6GB configuration. The report suggests OnePlus 5 sports a 5.5-inch 2K AMOLED screen. The new design will also bring a new design which is 7mm thick.

The Chinese company may choose to launch the new flagship in June or July to attract buyers who might otherwise purchase the more expensive Galaxy S8 or LG6.

In terms of pricing, the OnePlus devices have always been offered at mid-range prices despite their high-end specs. OnePlus may price the phone under $500 for the basic variant.
