Politics pierces the nostalgia at Rock Hall of Fame induction

The immortal 2Pac was posthumously inducted into the 2017 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last night (April 7), which included a hip-hop medley dedicated to the late rapper performed by Snoop Dogg, YG, T.I. and Treach. The whirlwind tour of Tupac's catalog was held up as the highlight of the evening, although people also praised Lenny Kravitz's Prince tribute, Joan Baez's call for empathy and love, and Steve Perry's on-stage reunion with Journey, even if Perry declined the chance to make music history and join in for a little "Don't Stop Believin'".

Shakur, who was 25 when he was killed in a drive-by shooting in 1996, is one of the most influential figures in rap history.

The Rock Hall inductions are tonight in NY.

The late star is only the sixth hip hop artist to be initiated in the hall's 30-year history - and the decision has raised eyebrows. "Let us build a great bridge, a lovely bridge, to welcome the exhausted and the poor", Baez told the Hall of Fame audience.

Coutinho usurps Juninho as Premier League´s most prolific Brazilian
It was just the response that Klopp was looking for after Wednesday's draw at home against Bournemouth . Coutinho hit the equaliser, before compatriot Roberto Firmino scored the victor two minutes later.

Snoop Dogg gave a amusing and moving speech, discussing his fallen friend and label-mate. You got to remember, I had just beat my case and 'Pac had just got out of prison. "Snoop Dogg and Tupac parasailed with Suge Knight driving the boat!" he marveled. "They can't take this away from you homie", he said, accepting the statuette on Shakur's behalf. Inductees will eventually be enshrined in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame museum in Cleveland.

Disco producer Nile Rodgers, the man behind 1970s hits like "Le Freak" and "We Are Family", was presented with a special award for musical excellence.

HBO will air the Rock Hall induction ceremony on April 29.
