Oklahoma deputy dies after shooting, suspect arrested

Nathan Aaron LeForce was being served an eviction notice at a Logan County residence when, for reasons unknown, he opened fire on Deputy David Wade, shooting him multiple times in the face and body.

Authorities say the deputy was able to radio for help, saying that he had been shot.

Officials say an Oklahoma deputy who was shot multiple times while serving an eviction notice has died from his injuries.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol, along with Sheriff's deputies and other law enforcement, were positioned near County Road 76 and Post Road believing they were close to finding LeForce in the area.

The deputy's name and condition have not been released, but Devereaux said he was coherent and appeared stable before being taken to a hospital.

Investigators say the search for the alleged shooter is ongoing.

Oklahoma City police said the stolen auto was last seen driving south on Henney Road from Oklahoma State Highway 33 in Logan County.

Around 10:45 a.m., authorities located the vehicle near County Rd.

The vehicle was spotted later Tuesday morning, but the suspect has yet to be taken into custody.

At this point, it is not known if he is hurt.

Langston, Mulhall and Coyle Schools were placed on lockdown as a precaution.
