Palace fight back to force 2-2 draw with Leicester

Huth scored one goal as the Premier League champions took a two-goal lead and averted several others as Crystal Palace, still threatened by relegation, fought back with a passion to earn a valuable point.

Musa was omitted from the Champions League quarter-final first leg tie between Atletico Madrid and Leicester City at the Vicente Calderon.

Palace then swiftly responded through Yohan Cabaye and Christian Benteke then secured the draw that took them up to 15th, seven points clear of the bottom three and within five of ninth.

Palace v Leicester is included in this weekend's Super 6 line-up, with £250,000 up for grabs again following jackpot wins in the last two rounds.

"If we can't win we know that we need to make sure we don't lose".

The contest did not initially go to form, though, and Huth put the visitors ahead after just six minutes, before Vardy's goal finally stirred Allardyce's charges into life.

But Sam Allardyce faces a stiff challenge in resurgent champions Leicester, who will be out for revenge after suffering a controversial mid-week Champions League defeat to Atletico Madrid.

However, the player who stood head and shoulders above all others could not be held responsible for either Palace goal and will be a glaring absentee in a match when the quality of courageous leaders will be paramount.

A few of Crystal Palace's star players enjoyed a quick trip to Paris following their 2-2 draw against Leicester.

"We need to concentrate on Palace and try to get those points".

"When you finish a game with a point having been 2-0 down, you have to be incredibly satisfied", he added.

"We're a bit gutted with the result in the end - if we'd held on to the two-goal lead for a bit longer, we'd have been fine", he said.

Allardyce added: "The aim will be to try and secure another three points but we are playing a team in exceptionally good form like ourselves and this will be just as hard a game as we faced against Arsenal on Monday night, if not more [difficult]". (But) we should be pleased with a point, probably.

And the Eagles showed great spirit to grab a deserved equaliser on 70 minutes after Andros Townsend's delivery from the left wing saw Benteke rise above defender Yohan Benalouane to nod in. "We could have seen it out, but they asked a lot of questions of us with their aerial threat".
