Rock Hall 2017 class includes Pearl Jam, Tupac and Journey

The showman and former "Late Show" host inducted Pearl Jam into the Rock Hall, paving the way for one of the most anticipated inductions of the past several years.

Legendary Seattle band Pearl Jam will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Friday.

Snoop Dogg has inducted the late Tupac Shakur into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with a speech that was both touching and playful.

In this week's Music Minute; highlights from the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame 2017, Harry Styles gears up for Saturday Night Live performance and Maximo Park's Paul Smith talks to IBTimes UK about the band's new album Risk To Exist.

From Tupac to Steve Perry and Journey, to a stunning speech from David Letterman about Pearl Jam, the induction ceremony was truly special and memorable, and we've got all the highlights here!

In classic Letterman monologue form, he praised the band - "a true living cultural organism" that fights against injustice - for its mid-1990s fight against "those beady-eyed bloodthirsty weasels at Ticketmaster".

He said to laughs from the audience: "That's right — Tupac got Snoop Dogg smoking blunts". Explaining why Rodgers deserves to be celebrated as an individual artist, Harris stated, "if you look at the people that he's worked with over the decades, it's pretty remarkable - as a producer, as a guitar player".

Vedder also used his speech to discuss climate change, saying "climate change is real, that's not fake news". "Looking forward to seeing them and all the other musicians on the bill".

Perry hasn't performed with the band since 1991.

EW has reached out to Rock Hall organizers for comment.

The rules have changed for year's nominations in that only certain individual members of each band will be inducted.

For almost four decades, Arnel Pineda has always wanted to meet Journey's original frontman Steve Perry. Both Joan Baez and Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder took the opportunity to address the issues.
