2 officers shot in downtown Seattle

The incident followed a robbery at a downtown convenience store. The suspects fled and exchanged fire with police. The male officer struck with a bottle was treated at the scene.

Brad Clough, who works at a bicycle fix shop in the area, said he heard sirens and saw at least several dozen police officers converge on the scene.

Earlier, a hospital spokeswoman said a 30-year-old male officer was in critical condition and had life-threatening injuries.

One of the old federal buildings in the area is blocked and people in the building are still sheltering in place until police rend it safe.
